Most
of the time when we think of basketball players we the first thing that comes
to mind is usually not how stylish they are or what sense of fashion they have.
Basketball players aren’t supposed to care really what they look like in my
opinion because they are recognized by all for their efforts on the court not
what they look like or what designer they are wearing. I get the fact that they
might want to stand out more then they already do so wearing “colors that
conflict” will really make them stand out even more.
Morris
compares the style of the basketball players as nerdy or preppy, which Carlton,
off of the show “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” got made fun of because he looked so
different compared to Will, who wore baggy clothes and hats, which was cool back
then to do, no one would’ve made fun of him because he looked “normal.”
These
basketball players are setting a new trend that more and more people are going
to start commenting on and noticing. The more players that they get to start
looking at their outfits and pay attention to what they look like this new
trend will become the new “normal.” Which leads to a point of what was the
“normal” back in the day? People like Carlton got made fun of and now what he
wore would be thought as better then Will. Its funny to see how things can
change throughout the years and that the old normal now will become the new
normal.
